Detail of Tips and Tricks for Beginners
Saving of diamonds
There is need to save diamonds and you should try to save diamonds. Do not spend diamonds on any items, creatures and auras. At the beginning, diamonds are hard to come by. In case more diamonds are required by you, you will have to save them for long time or buy them with real money. After that, you will use them to get new armies that you can't get normally. If you spend diamonds it is my advice to spent them only for legendary units at special discounts. Other good thing to purchase is royal aura.
Do all side quests and Get Additional Creatures
You should not rush the main quest storyline, but also do all the side quests that will give you additional creatures. Some quests are daily and can be repeated every day. Do them for gold, creatures and items.
NPC monster level
Each and every NPC pack has number with their average level that is also colored. If they are red, they are much stronger than you. Gray packs won't give you any xp (but gray quests will).
Best creatures for PvE
I prefer to use units that have lots of hp, so I do not require to heal them so often and spend stamina and gold. My army usually consists of one high hp tank (defender) and 3 ranged units (mages, healers, archers). I fill 5th slot depending on enemy, most often with additional defender. Good starting tank is knight that can be later replaced with Paladins, Ents ... My ranged units are also those with higher hp, such as alchemists, inventors, gunners. Another must have for me are pilgrims, that have free heal for my tank (just don't use heal on low hp units).
After achieving level of 20 or so, even high hp defenders will start to die. Instead of them I sometimes switch to some common unit, that is cheap to revive.
Usage of spells
You should make efforts to save spells at the beginnings, since they cost money. I suggest you use them more after achieving level of 10, to save your army from dying. I mostly use heal and fire arrow, that are cheap. For example heal that costs 200g will save you 450g if you prevent one Ent from dying, as reviving it costs 650g. Also try to upgrade heal spell, when you have more gold.
Reviving units
Reviving no longer costs stamina, so new users can progress faster. If you don't want to revive units after every fighty, you can buy more units that is your leadership limit.
Patrol
Small amount of gold and xp can you get by Patrol. With recent changes patrol can be used even while playing, so whenever you can, put units on patrol, then close patrol window and continue playing. Just remember that you collect patrol rewards after it's over (as there isn't any message for completion).
There is a trick to consider about the area you are patrolling. Lower level (gray) areas won’t give you any xp for fights, while higher level will have hard fights that you might not win (although you will get all the gold from patrol), so no xp again.
You should start patrol even if you intend to interrupt it after half an hour, as you will still get something, while just waiting for stamina to replenish will give you nothing.
Make friends
- If you have friends, it will allow you to advance quicker although it's not really necessary. Advantages are:
- You can send 20 gifts daily to friends that will give them some gold (and they can return gifts to you).
- In return, friends can send you basic resources (if you send resources you get 300 gold for helping, while you don't really loose any resources you have).
- You require friends to start wanted quests that give you more powerful creatures (or you can buy them with diamonds).
- Each friend has a spell you can use for free in battle once a day (max 3 spells per battle).
- You can do friendly PVP match where you won't lose any units and will give you some gold if you win (once a day).
In case you need the help of your friend, you can add him anytime.

Beside leadership and units, you also get +1 stamina at every second level (at 3, 5, 7 ... and so on)
Good PVP units in King's Bounty Legions
Dueling at lower levels can be risky as not many people duel under level 20, so you can get matched with higher levels, that can kill you fast. If you want to try it before go ahead, you can flee if you encounter godly opponent.
Many nice setups are there that work for duels, although most seems to evolve around one or two ranged units, warriors and fast defenders.
Mostly PVP with common units, are cheap to heal. Since I mostly upgraded kingdom units I use for doing quests, my army mostly comprise of:
- Archers: Nice ranged with some utiliy (slow) against common units
- Pilgrims: Nothing special, but they are at level 7 now. I will probably switch them for Druids once I level them.
- Pirate: These are really fast and can crit hard.
- Young Fairies: No enemy retaliation. Beat that!
- Possesed Bears: Common defenders that hit hard with Fury.
So far this army can stand ground to ordinary players, though all common army is at disadvantage against players, that have powerful legendary units. But even some more powerful players can be beaten with clever strategy. |
