Preparation

  • Choose a quiet, comfortable environment; one that is conducive to concentration and relaxation.
  • Gather all the necessary items: a Ouija board, paper and pencil for taking notes, a watch or timer, and a glass or bowl of water.
  • Invite all players to sit around the board, each with a hand resting lightly on the planchette.

Game Play

  • Start the game by asking a question in a clear voice. For example, Is anyone here?
  • Wait for the planchette to move around the board.
  • When the planchette stops, note the letter or symbol it has landed on.
  • Continue asking questions and taking notes until the planchette no longer moves.

Safety & Supervision

  • Never play alone or with more than three people.
  • Always be respectful of the spirit you are communicating with.
  • If at any time the game becomes too intense or uncomfortable, stop the game immediately.
  • An adult should always be present when playing.
