- Control the center: Occupying the center squares early on can give you an advantage in Reversi. This limits your opponent's options and gives you more opportunities to make strategic moves.
- Focus on mobility: Keep your pieces mobile so that you have more options for making moves. Try to avoid creating clusters of pieces that are difficult to move around.
- Corner pieces are key: The corner squares are the most valuable spaces on the board because they can't be flipped by your opponent. Try to secure as many corner pieces as possible while also maintaining control of the center.
- Think ahead: Reversi is a game of strategy, so you need to think several moves ahead in order to anticipate your opponent's next move and plan your own accordingly.
- Make your opponent's moves work against them: Look for opportunities to force your opponent to make moves that will ultimately benefit you. For example, if you can force your opponent to flip a piece that will allow you to take a corner square, that's a move worth making.
- Don't be too aggressive: While it's important to be strategic and assertive in Reversi, don't be so aggressive that you leave your own pieces vulnerable. Make sure you're always protecting your own pieces while also trying to capture your opponent's.
