How to clear land?

How do you permanently clear trees, rocks, and grass to make room for buildings on the island farm?

When you mouse over on a bush, tree, rock, lump of clay, bamboo, etc, wait until the item is outlined in yellow and stay on it. A little bubble with a count will come up, and the larger number on the right will tell you how many times you will need to hit the item to completely get rid of it. you will need to click on the item until the counter on the left reads the same as the number on the right. When your guy is done working, a treasure casket will appear and that will tell you that you have permanently removed the item.

You click on them. Every click costs 1 energy. When the obstruction is cleared, you will get a chest (except for grass)

You use your energy given to you daily and click on the trees, grass or rocks and click on them and your player will chop them down.  Under all but grass you will be rewarded with a chest that you open which gives you more rewards.  Keep this up and you will eventually be able to build a building for a lumber jack that will chop trees and later for a man that will chop up the rocks and clay. 

If you have the Carpenter building and the Stone Quarry buildings you can have these two guys cut them.  The stone cutter will cut down rock, clay, white marble and quartz crystal, the carpenter will cut down all the trees of any kind. After they are done cutting them down there will be a treasure chest, depending on the size of the tree or rock, I'd say small, medium, to large and you can then go over and click or tap on these and receive what's in them, some energy, rope, cow grain etc. I will sometimes stop them just a little bit before they are and "hack or chop" at it myself to get it done faster and get to the box faster, waiting till they get to a low number I don't mind wasting energy on to do it sooner.

but what if you ran out of energy and have no space to make a stone quary? then what? that is what is happening to me....

Click on the tools icon and you can move buildings and objects that you placed.
