Maple Bacon Recipe for a Snowy Morning Waking up to fluffy falling snow being blown into beautiful drifts is nature's way of suggesting that a day of fun awaits....after a hot and satisfying breakfast. We know here at Flowmotion that in order to make any bite of food more satisfying ( especially the first bite of the day) it should deliver each of the four elements of flavor. Salty, Sweet, Sour & Bitter. If a bite of food gives you some of each, then it will be more pleasurab...le to eat. The more pleasure a bite is, the more satisfying it is. Few foods deliver more pleasure than bacon. But we have a recipe that takes ordinary bacon in to the Satisfaction Stratosphere. We LOVE Maple Bacon for a snowy morning. We know you will love it too. This recipe developed by Link will become everyone's Birthday breakfast request item. SMOKED MAPLE BACON -12 slices thick applewood smoked bacon -1/4 cup good quality maple syrup Preheat the oven to 4 degrees F. -Place a baking rack on a parchment lined baking sheet. Place slices of bacon 1/2 inch apart lengthwise in a single layer on the baking rack. -Bake for 8 to 1 until the bacon begins to brown. Every oven is different and we urge you to monitor the bacon to make sure it does not burn. Once browned, carefully remove the baking sheet from the oven using oven mitts. -Warning, be alert that there will be extremely hot bacon grease in the baking sheet. Do not tip the baking sheet as you remove it from the oven. Lay the baking sheet on a level surface in order to apply the maple syrup. -Next, pour or brush the bacon slices with maple syrup and bake for another 3 to 5 minutes, until the bacon is a irresistible brown. -Transfer the bacon to a cooling rack over another baking sheet. -While hot the bacon will be malleable, but as it cools it will crisp up ENJOY!

NEW YEAR's RECIPES from the Flowtopian Kitchen of Culinary Queen Jennifer English Bar Snacks! # 3. Marcona Almond Martini Mates ... Marcona almonds have been discovered. Warming them in the oven and tossing them lightly with good spanish olive oil transforms them from something to grab by the handful into a deceptively sophisticated mindful martini mate. Serve these with your nest stirred or shaken martini. They work brilliantly with either the gin or vodka variety. Ingredients - Whole toasted unsalted Marcons Almonds - Good Spanish Olive Oil - 1 Lemon - Flavorbank Sassy Salt Preheat oven to 350 lightly toss together in a bowl 8oz. Marcona Almonds and 1-2 tablespoons Good Spanish Olive Oil. Add the zest of 1/2 lemon to mixture and 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice. Toss. Spread dressed almonds on a cookie sheet in an even layer. Warm for 3-5 minutes using care not to toast or darken the nuts. Sprinkle with ground Flavorbank Sassy Salt and serve in classic monkey dishes. 4. Royale Olives I think that the pink peppercorn is natures perfect bar snack. A single pink berry, all on its own fills the palate with sweet, nutty, floral perfume and flavor. It works brilliantly with creamy things. I take large queen olives and remove the pimento and add a creamy peppery replacement. These take a little bit of care but are completely worth it. Ingredients - 1 jar super sized queen olives - 8 oz block French feta Cheese - Flavorbank Pink Peppercorns - 1 teaspoon lemon zest - Fresh grounded Flavorbank Tellicherry Black Pepper - 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil Drain olives, reserve liquid. and remove pimento inners from olives. In a small mixing bowl combine softened french feta cheese and 2 tablespoons whole pink peppercorns, lemon zest & 5 twists of fresh ground Flavorbank Tellicherry bold black pepper. Carefully fill the centers of each olive with the feta mixture. Toss gently in a bowl with olive oil and serve on a fabulous pick with an accent bowl of pink peppercorns for snacking.

NEW YEAR's RECIPES from the Flowtopian Kitchen of Culinary Queen Link Bar Snacks! ... 1. Truffled Potato Chips This is one of the easiest and most delicious ways to transform a perfect but ordinary potato chip into a masterful mate for a well mixed drink. I always keep a bag of thick cut unsalted potato chips, (I prefer the Kettle brand) and some very good truffle oil and flake sea salt on hand to make these in a minute. Ingredients -1 Bag Kettle brand Unsalted Potato Chips -Good Truffle Oil in a Misto mister -Flavorbank Flake Sea Salt -Fresh Flavorbank Freshly Ground Malabar Pepper (fine grind) -Preheat oven to 3 degrees -Spread contents of one bag of unsalted potato chips on a cookie sheet in an even layer using caution not to damage the chips -Using the Misto, spray a light and even coat of truffle oil over the chips -Heat for 5-7 minutes -Remove and sprinkle immediately with Flavorbank Flake sea Salt & Malabar Pepper -Transfer to a clean, shallow cloth lined bowl serve. 2. Berbere Popcorn Chef Marcus Samuelsson's Afrikya Foods features a classic Ethiopian Spice blend called Berbere. It is the heart of the cuisine and flavors of Africa. We have married this intoxicating blend with butter and a dash of salt to dress up popcorn. Ingredients -1 hot air popped popcorn -12 green cardamom pods -4 tablespoons good unsalted butter -1 tablespoon Afrikya Foods Berbere spice -1 tablespoon organic sugar Pop the popcorn and cardamom pods together in a hot air popper for best results. the popcorn will fluffily discharge into the serving bowl leaving the heavier cardamom pods behind. The Cardamom pods flavor the popcorn gently. On the stove, gently melt the butter being careful not to brown. Add the Berbere spice and sugar and incorporating fully. Drizzle the butter, spice & sugar mixture evenly and thoroughly over the entire batch of popcorn. Toss to coat evenly. Beware, this is completely addictive.
