The air is running thin in the stomach of the beast. With your last energy you open the lid of the treasure chest and find... ... .... .... .... a strange foggy map. ... Most of it is obscured and blurred into oblivion, but there are some features still visible... some mountains, a volcano, the sea... And there is a host of portraits of strange people and even some animals. Some look familiar. Hey, there is even a cute dog among them! Where does this come from? Is it from the future? A possible future? Or another dimension? Nobody knows... But it can't save you from your doom. You lay down into the pool of acid. The corrosive liquid slowly starts to dissolve your skin. It finds a way into your ears and stars nibbling on your ear drums, dulling all sounds. In a couple of breaths you exhaust the air supply in the chamber. The green ooze takes weeks to transform your skin, muscle, brains and bones into a pink pulpy brew. You turn out to be very nutritious for the lake monster. THE END

You ask the Green Head about the history of the island. Day 29 The head can't believe what it's hearing WHAT?! REALLY? After almost 30 days of trying to find the treasure you ask about the history of the island? Okay. Sure. Well, where to begin? The island is of volcanic origin , geologically speaking it's not that old, maybe a million years. Winds brought with them seeds that grew into a pretty dense jungle . Small animals reached the island by swimming from nearby isl...ands and on floating logs, there is no larger game here though. Some thousand years ago a group of hunter-gatherers on kayaks arrived on the island. They were just in transit and were looking for fresh water . They dug a hole to act as reservoir. That's the lake that is at the centre of the island. Just before leaving they built us for good luck on their voyage. I hope it worked. At that time we weren't sentient yet. In 1861, in the golden age of sail, a ship flying the Jolly Roger dropped anchor here. The crew set foot on the 23rd of October. First they buried a treasure chest, typical for pirates. Their captain suffered a minor injury while climbing the tallest peak and planting a flag there. The wound got infected and the captain died shortly after. The crew buried him and planted a fruit tree near his grave. The tree soon turned into a real orchard. The fruit there is delicious. It's the crew that built the pier, they probably wanted to return to the island in the future, but got unlucky. After leaving their ship was caught in a hurricane and the vessel was destroyed, taking the whole crew with it. A sad story. In 1982 a scientific expedition reached the island. They wanted to build an observatory in an area that was not polluted by artificial light. A skeleton crew of five scientist was left behind to work at the facility. We were born in the year 2002 when a magical storm appeared over the island. A magical lightning bolt struck us, granting us sentience. Neat, right? The scientists researched us for months. The residual magic lured in an evil beast, the lake monster. The beast was hungry for treasure. It uncovered the pirate chest and devoured it. But that wouldn't satisfy its appetite. It attacked the observatory! One by one the scientists fell prey to the monster until the last one constructed the Sapphire golem using the magic created by the storm. I guess somehow he cracked the code how to use it. Dr. Green sadly passed away in 2014 from old age. And then you arrived. This concludes the history of this island. What do you want to do next?

It doesn't take long for you to reach the Tricky Totem. Day 27 It is a reasonably tall structure made out of painted wood. There are only three totem heads. Just as you begin carefully studying the craftsmanship of whoever built this thing, the heads start to talk!!! Green Head Oh, great, now they are finally here! Thank the gods! After all these hints they grace us with their presence! ... Yellow Head Shut up! Don't you see the hit point bar above us? They mean to hurt us! Let's pretend we are inanimate. Red Head Me hungry. Me wanna eat. Umm, okay. Which head do you talk to?

The fight against the Sapphire Golem is an epic one! Day 26 Projectiles fly everywhere , explosions cover the island in a blanket of demonic destruction! Sparks from the pyrotechnics light the observatory on fire . The golem turns around and mutters "OH NO, MY HOME, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!". You use this diversion and hit the final blow! The golem's crystal skin cracks and turns to fine blue powder. Only the head remains as it d...rops to the ground with a satisfying thud. You step on the head looking at the sunset and say "I think I made myself CRYSTAL clear." Sadly, you can't search the observatory unless you want to run into a burning building. Where do you go next?
