It's a poignant moment for me, as the ads that paid for my old games to be free on mobiles for the past 12 years have finally been switched off. After exhausting every possibility, I no longer see any way of running live ads on a dead engine. The good news is that the games themselves are still alive and well, as every year since 2018 has threatened to be their last too! But if I'm being greedy, it sure would have been nice to keep them earning until the end - because their p :

It may not be the school you wanted to get into, but the original 2D "School Days" is also now available on Steam! Specially adapted for Steam Deck, it's the 1st time the concept has ever been playable on PC with a controller. And if you act quickly, you can pick it up for no more than the $3 mobile app! It's not a bad way to pass the time until its bigger brother, "Old School", gets enough wishlists to join the party...:

Over the past 10 years, I've prided myself on revolutionizing how much free content people can expect from a game. Mobiles were the ultimate "win-win", where my games could reach millions of people all over the world and let ads pay the bills. The truth is that ads haven't come close to filling in the gaps since strict regulations were introduced in 2018. Ever since then, I've been taking it on the chin "for old time's sake" out of respect for what mobiles did for me - and ev :

While we all wish it was easier to edit the assets in my new games, Steam Workshop is finally here to at least make it indirectly possible! You can now "subscribe" to a whole range of mods and have them automatically show up in your game by choosing the alternate "Play Modded" launch option: Link Not only is this easier for users, but it's also fairer for the developer if all of this happens within Steam - where paying customers ha

The doors have finally opened for Android and iOS students to go back to school in 3D! Classes are also FREE at this level until you feel it's worth investing in a "Private Education" to remove ads and unlock the editor. Subscriptions remain the only way to keep the games affordable on mobiles, so consider it a demo of the PC or Switch version if you'd rather own the game outright. But for casuals, the game may never cost you more than $4 if you see everything you want to in :

As one of my most popular games, Super City was supposed to be the jewel in the crown (or the last infinity stone?) of my PC remasters. However, a side effect of its legal issues is that Steam also passed on the opportunity to publish it. Instead of letting all that hard work go to waste, or struggling to market it on some unrelated platform, I've made the difficult decision to give it away for FREE as a Christmas treat! You can download the zip from my own website right now :

v1.5.8 is now live across ALL platforms, where it introduces a handful of classic moves to celebrate the return of Street Fighter! It has been a fun experiment in animating unorthodox attacks with unique mechanics. They're not distributed among the characters as standard, so purists needn't fear as you'll never see them unless you go looking for them...:

I've always had mixed feelings about mods, as only a game's biggest fan would dig that deep - and yet like a wrestling fan jumping over the barrier, that passion can do more harm than good if it's not contained! One compromise that could bridge the gap is "Thunderstore", which overlays mods on top of an existing Steam installation instead of undermining it. That also keeps them smaller and easier to install - so much so that you can even mix & match DIFFERENT mods or run the :

I'm supposed to be keeping a low profile while WWE & AEW dominate the news cycle, but I thought I'd break cover to tag in Ultra Pro Wrestling! There's already plenty to admire in the game's visual style and the quality of the montage. Thanks to everybody who went to bat for me in the comments, but there's no need as any similarities are simply down to us both trying to recreate the N64 era - and I would only ever take it as a compliment if my work convinced others to give it a shot...: #

Wrestling Empire has already had a good debut on Steam regardless of what happens next, but if those positive reviews translate into positive votes then it could see out the year with a Steam Award! After dozens of free updates that redefined what people expect from a wrestling game, the "Labor Of Love" championship sounds like the one worth fighting for. Wrestling games are automatically disqualified from awards if the judges don't happen to be fans, so we mustn't waste this

While v1.2.6 goes live on every other platform in time for All Out, I'm working on some bonus content to make the delays more palatable for Nintendo gamers. Glass bottles are returning to 3D, and with more detail than we've ever seen previously - such as contents that you can visibly see going down! When holding a beverage in either hand, you simply taunt to pour it into your mouth. And it's no empty gesture either, as milk & water literally restore your health in the middle

A "Diving Headbutt" is the first (but not the last!) new flying attack we've seen since the game launched. As in real life, it's an awkward one to land. It falls more than it jumps, and it's the only move that lands a body length short of the victim. But some nice bleeding from each head helps to sell it!

As of the latest v1.2.5 update, higher end PCs are now free to expand to the cast limit to 50 characters in the ring at the same time! That was always indirectly possible via the "Surprise Intervals" match format, but now it's officially possible before your eyes. I could push it even further, but it's the concept of wrestling itself that could not cope with more! That's something to look forward to if other free-roaming adventures come to the platform, which is looking more

An unexpected benefit of Wrestling Empire coming to Steam is that the original Wrestling Revolution has also been tagged in! It was originally supposed to be released on PC in 2012, but was down-voted into minus figures back when trolls dictated the narrative. Millions of downloads later, publishers are thawing to the idea of having the People's Champion pass through their territory. Too little too late to set the world on fire, of course, but it's good that diehard fans can

Thanks to its unprecedented reach, Wrestling Revolution 3D has become the 1st combat sports game to win the title of 100 million downloads - beating out UFC, boxing, and WWE combined! I've analysed the Android version from every angle and have re-released it with a lower resolution as standard - and a handful of further display options. My experience is that performance is twice as reliable, so we'll see how many more devices that tags in. I'm not a miracle worker, however, and the fact remains that this is a console game that is bending over backwards to keep mobiles in the loop. Considering Android users already have old-school wrestling in both 2D & 3D, I didn't imagine there would be quite so much hysteria about getting a hi res addition to the family?! This is at least the best thing for reaching the masses, and then we can gradually take the brakes off as technology catches up. Link

Although the Switch will always be the premium multiplayer experience, iOS users can get started with the new game for as little as $3.99! The catch is that price point is only possible each year with a recurring subscription. Even then you would have to play the game for 5 years solid before it even begins to match what the Switch accomplished this morning. But I'm betting on myself, and I'm looking forward to linking the longevity of the game with its worth. Historically, the wrestling games have been bought once (if I'm lucky!) and then played for years - with very little basis for continued work. Whereas subscriptions will give me a mandate to keep people invested from one year to the next. That doesn't necessarily mean I'll work on it forever, but if I drop the ball this experiment will never cost you more than $3.99. Realistically, I estimate it will cost the average user $8 - which would make this new & improved sim cost LESS than the old one did in its prime! Even that assumes the price will never go down over the years, which is perfectly possible once the initial risk has been assuaged. And this is all *if* you feel the Pro experience is worth investing in at all, as there's still plenty to play for free Link
