Here's a fun way for your little ones to practice speaking another language Try playing "20 Questions" at home or in the classroom to get everyone talking and having fun! The only rule is that you can only ask YES or NO q u e s t i o n s ! We always like to start by picking a category that we know or want to practice like 'animals' so we can focus on target vocabulary or just for fun. Then everyone takes turns asking questions like "Is it BIG?" until we guess the answer! Up the stakes by splitting into teams or set guess limits so you can keep score! We'll go first! The category is....COUNTRIES! Remember, you can only ask questions!

Use a 'Would you rather...' for fun language practice with your little ones! Would you rather go to the International Space Station or an underwater hotel? Ask them which they'd rather go to and why! This is a fun way to practice speaking in a target language when speaking can seem like a challenge. For beginners, try talking about nouns, adjectives and verbs associated with space or the ocean! Making sure to include all ability levels is super important for creating a positive learning environment. There's no right or wrong way to learning, so always make sure your little one is having FUN!

Sometimes speaking in another language can be scary. Wearing a mask can give you confidence! You can have fun with a friend and practice language at the same time. With your friend:1. Choose a famous person you'd like to be (bonus points if they speak the language you're learning!)2. Draw a mask on cardboard (or use a picture from a magazine!)3. Cut it out and add string to the sides4. Now you can wear it and practice your new language! It might help to write out some phrases you'd like to say in your target language, and ask your teacher to help you translate them.

Language isn't just a tool for communication. It is a record of cultures and people who lived before us - of the stories passed down from generation to generation, their words and phrases. It's one of the reasons we love learning languages! You're always learning something, even if it's just a history lesson.

Here's a great way to practice language learning Make a bilingual dictionary! Learners will LOVE creating their very own bilingual dictionary All they will need is a notebook or paper and something to write and draw with!1. Write new words in the left column, and the translation in the right.2. When you're testing yourself, cover the right hand column first3. ....and then the next time, cover the left hand column.4. This makes sure you can translate into and out of the language! Have you ever made a dictionary at home for language learning? How often do you update it?
