An unexpected throne | The fourth emperor of Roman empire After the happy National Holiday , now Easytech is coming back ! Today , we continue to tell some historic stories. The first dynasty of Roman empire was created by Augustus. It was called as [Julia Claudius Dynasty]. But Octavian had only daughters,there were no suitable adult male heirs. Finally , reclusive Tiberius got the throne. However,Roman people thought the throne should be inherited by Octavian's relat...ives.So Caligula became the third emperor. However ,he was just a complete tyrant and hated by Roman people. In 41 AD , household troops supported his uncle -- 50-year-old Claudius to be the 4th emperor. As the 4th emperor of Roman Empire,he reigned from 41 AD to 54 AD.Claudiuss father was Tiberius brother. His brother -- Germanicus was adopted by Octavian.Due to health reasons, he never had any chances to participate in public life. When Caligula became the emperor , Claudius became Roman consul. However , he never received support from people.He never be trained in politics , so Claudius was unable to speak clearly before the public.People never paid much attention to him and watched him gaffe in public as a joke. After Claudius unexpectedly became emperor , he strove for harmony among all classes.He repaired the broken relationship between the emperor and Senate during Caligula times. In addition , he increased the political power of the citizens in Rome.Historian thinks he was the key to build the political centralization form of the early Roman empire. Claudius had three marriages before becoming the emperor , the first fiancee died before marriage.He had a daughter with his second wife , but the daughter passed away when she was young.They also divorced because of life quarrels.
