Language isn't just a tool for communication. It is a record of cultures and people who lived before us - of the stories passed down from generation to generation, their words and phrases. It's one of the reasons we love learning languages! You're always learning something, even if it's just a history lesson.

Here's a great way to practice language learning Make a bilingual dictionary! Learners will LOVE creating their very own bilingual dictionary All they will need is a notebook or paper and something to write and draw with!1. Write new words in the left column, and the translation in the right.2. When you're testing yourself, cover the right hand column first3. ....and then the next time, cover the left hand column.4. This makes sure you can translate into and out of the language! Have you ever made a dictionary at home for language learning? How often do you update it?

Here's a fun way to practice language at home! Have a treasure hunt Whether your little one is practicing simple vocabulary or how to give directions, a treasure hunt will keep them wanting to learn more. All they will need is a pencil and some sticky notes (regular paper works just fine ) and of course...some TREASURE! For littles ones, help them to first plan out their 'route' by walking through each of the rooms they want to use! Then, have them tell you the directions for each room, write it down and stick it in a visible place for others to discover the surprise. This activity is also a great way to promote and develop spatial awareness while keeping them active and engaged. Have you had a treasure hunt at home or in school? Let us know how it went!
