Teacher appreciation week might be over, but we understand and appreciate all of the hard work and time that #Teachers put in day in and day out. Around the world, teachers mold and shape the minds of future generations through good times and bad. They are always there greeting us with a smile on their face (even if it's the worst day ever) and they take the time to help us when we're struggling! Teachers, you are heroes! Thank you for all that you do and for making a

William Shakespeare was known for inventing words, but how many is he credited with inventing? He often invented new words by changing the uses for words - nouns became adjectives, adjectives became verbs and so on! He also invented new words by adding prefixes and suffixes to existing ones. This is just one example of how LANGUAGES are "living." They are always growing and changing to meet the needs of the people who speak it!

Some of us are visual learners or retain more when we create something!Kids are no different - so try making a LANGUAGE collage with your little ones as a different way to learn language. A collage is a really great visual that can be used again and again! Use a topic to help focus the collage and let them choose the words they'd like to add to it! We like to plan words out ahead of time but try to write down a few extra (in case we can't find a picture!).

Here's a fun way for your little ones to practice speaking another language Try playing "20 Questions" at home or in the classroom to get everyone talking and having fun! The only rule is that you can only ask YES or NO q u e s t i o n s ! We always like to start by picking a category that we know or want to practice like 'animals' so we can focus on target vocabulary or just for fun. Then everyone takes turns asking questions like "Is it BIG?" until we guess the answer! Up the stakes by splitting into teams or set guess limits so you can keep score! We'll go first! The category is....COUNTRIES! Remember, you can only ask questions!
