Rest in peace, GM Lubomir Kavalek. The Czech-American legend was a former top 10 player who also donned many other hats - coach, writer, organizer, commentator. He seconded Bobby Fischer in the latter half of the 1972 World Championship match and also helped Nigel Short during his ascent towards the 1993 World Championship. His chess columns in the Washington Post and Huffington Post were very well received.:
