Villains! The time has come again to please you with a selection of natural and historical mysteries. Hampton Court. England. ****************************... Today we will talk about the Hampton Court Palace. For many centuries, it housed the English royal court. The palace has one of the largest collections of fine art, and the surroundings are famous for their green labyrinth, rose gardens, and gardens. Hampton Court is also known for being used as the residence of King Henry VIII in the first half of the 16th century. During his reign, Henry managed to get married six times, which by the standards of those times it was a big figure. The king was feminine, but cruel and willful. There is a statement that Henry VIII was the prototype of the tale of the Blue Beard. The king was merciless and despotic in relation to his wives. In order to marry again, he accused his wives of various fictitious crimes and executed them. Anna Boleyn and Catherine Howard, two of his wives, were accused of witchcraft, and then ascended the scaffold. They say that a ghost lives in the castle, and this statement went because of the story with Katherine Howard. The unfortunate woman was sentenced to death, but having escaped from custody, she ran to the chapel in which the king locked himself and prayed for mercy. Only a commemorative plaque remained in her memory, since then rumors of a ghost have been sent. In 1918, the ghost disappeared. But later, in front of one artist who painted one of the tapestries, a hand appeared several times with a ring. The ring, as it turned out, belonged to Katherine. Also, one of the women who lived at that time in the palace said that she very often noticed a screaming ghost. Among the observed ghosts was Sybil Penn - the nurse of Edward VI. She died in 1562 from smallpox. In 1829 her grave was disturbed, and soon after that the inhabitants of the palace began to hear a woman's voice and the strange sound of a spinning wheel. A little later, a room was found where an old spinning wheel stood. In 2 a surveillance camera installed in the palace recorded something, which skeptics and scientists still argue about.
