Grischuk I thought I had decent winning chances in the Bishop endgame. And I think I proved it right - it was very difficult for him to defend with little time on the clock. He probably missed my main idea of playing g5, recapturing with the King, playing h6, which leads to the creation of the 'e' and 'f' passed pawns.

A super eventful day at the Skolkovo Women's ! World Women's Champion Ju Wenjun, who had been leading the tournament for quite some time, lost her ninth round game to Kateryna Lagno while Koneru Humpy grabbed her opportunity by beating Valentina Gunina. With just two rounds to go, the leadership baton has now passed over to the Indian star! (Photo Freebie Link )

While all eyes were on the , GM Ray Robson won the strong Fall Chess Classic A with a complete round to spare. In the first 2 rounds, Ray had drawn one and lost one. But then, he won 5 games on the trot, drew the next, and bingo - he was already the CHAMPION! (Photo Crystal Fuller/STLChessClub)
