Hi Everyone. I have two pieces of news to share.Firstly, I'm excited to announce that I've released a new game, Echoes of Cxcothl. It's similar in style to The Nameless Grave, but slightly larger in content. I've listened to the feedback from The Nameless Grave about not knowing how many endings can be achieved, and have included an achievements system which keeps track of the possible endings and which ones you have completed. The other question I'm sure I'll get will be :

Hey guys! As I mentioned in my last posts, I'm currently working on a new series of games to complement the existing Horror in the Darkness series. It's going to be a little more like a traditional game book format with illustrations, but staying true to my origins in Lovecraftian Interactive Fiction. Some of the games will be more focused on the writing aspect, while others will have more RPG elements, including character creation and combat systems.Let me share with you s

The other question I'm sure I'll get will be re...lated to the future of the Horror in the Darkness series. I can confirm that there will be a sequel to Madness at Hobbsgate. Work has been slowly progressing in the background on it for a while now, but my hope is that with the release of Echoes I can now turn my full attention back to the sequel, rather than trying to split my efforts across multiple projects. I promise to give a more accurate timeline for this in the following weeks. In the meantime, please check out my new game, if you so desire :-) Link

Hey guys, the slightly expanded version of Horror in the Darkness will be coming out in a few days. As well as a few new locations and some changes to some of the puzzles I've included some upgrades to the engine at the same time. I've added the ability to look at the current area, to have the description repeated to you. There will be small indicators on the map to show exits up or down from an area. And, last but not least, the app will remember your upgraded status so that if you don't have internet access but you have already upgraded you will still have access to all the premium features that you deserve for being such a wonderful person.

Hey guys! As I mentioned in my last posts, I'm currently working on a new series of games to complement the existing Horror in the Darkness series. It's going to be a little more like a traditional game book format with illustrations, but staying true to my origins in Lovecraftian Interactive Fiction. Some of the games will be more focused on the writing aspect, while others will have more RPG elements, including character creation and combat systems. Let me share with you some of the artwork I have commissioned for one of the games in the series. I hope you like it!

Hey guys. Following on from my last post, I have decided to remove all advertising from all my current games. There will still be an option to purchase an upgrade to premium - and I hope that people will still choose to do this if they like my games. And I hope that no one who has already upgraded will feel cheated by my decision. Please allow me to explain. With recent updates to Google's policies, I need to ask you for consent to show you advertising. To do this, I need to ...add more code, and more libraries to my games. Personally, I hate writing code relating to advertising. It was never my vision to have advertising. So, I had a decision to make. I could go and update all my games to ask EU residents for consent. And then handle the various situations where people give only partial or no consent. Or I can delete all the advertising completely. Given how little revenue mobile advertising generates, it was an easy decision. I felt good doing it. But for the people who paid to upgrade, because they wanted the advertising gone, I'm not unaware that you might feel annoyed. I genuinely hope you don't - you still have quick travel, and that warm fuzzy feeling that you helped make these games. But I've made another decision that I think you will like. Instead of spend my time updating stupid advertising code I've decided to spend that time adding content. So, in the near future, I will be releasing updated "premium-only" content, which will slightly expand each of the three games which support premium upgrades. There may be a few extra locations, perhaps some colorful characters to met, maybe an extra puzzle or two. Just my way to thank you for your support. I hope you guys will support this decision - it wasn't one I took lightly.

Hey guys. I've been thinking a lot lately about the role of advertising in my games. I've decided to reduce the amount of advertising going forward. As such, I've released an update to the very original version of Horror in the Darkness, which removes the banner advertisement. It's still my hope that people will play the modern versions of the games starting with Redux, but for anyone who wants to play the very original which had no upgrade to premium feature, you can now do so ad free. Any new line of games (which may soon be announced here... wink, wink) will not be featuring any banner advertisements or full screen advertisements either. I think it will make a better experience for everyone. I hope you will all agree.

Hey everyone! Quick random question - how hard do you like your mobile games? Let me know in the comments below on a scale of 1 = Super easy no way to make a mistake, to 10 = Brutally unforgiving, sometimes you don't even know if you have made a mistake until far later in the game.

Hey guys. Fun piece of historical trivia. Did you know, the original design of Horror in the Darkness included a combat system? There were weapons to pick up and enemies to fight. In the end I felt like it wasn't very fun, and kind of detracted from the "text-based point-and-click" theme that I was going for, so I never made use of it. But it was all there behind the scenes. :-)
