Wilderless 1.4 optimizes loading by splitting world generation and translation into separate processes, with translation after world creation. Earlier versions did both at the same time increasing cpu pressure. Also translation process is skipped when default English is chosen.

Update 1.4 adds a bunch of small features including water and camps so Im moving the animal expansion to 1.5. It deserves its own update, in the meantime 1.4 is almost ready

World 13 drops you onto a beautiful valley mountainside. I suggest travelling east from there - each world is different and the rivers and forests of lucky 13 are some of my favourites

The new planar water in 1.4 offers more detailed reflections, and a new preset lets you auto switch to high resolution when you take a picture in photo mode

Click the Camp button to place a tent, multi click to cycle through tent types, hold the button down to move the tent around. Still have to mask out interior grass, fix steep slopes and add fx

Snow collisions work really well with the tent, keeping you dry and cozy inside. Now I have to figure out how to clear the grass, and if you place tents yourself or if they appear randomly in the wild. Link

I think Im going to add this as a Moving Painting preset. Its the oil Paint and Temporal blending options combined - I find the effect really soothing and it feels like a painting in motion

While I plan out the Architecture update, before then I might be adding in some quick tents to get cozy in. Several players have asked for it and I love the idea of a warm lamp while a storm rages outside

Currently I use real-time reflection probes which are expensive and dont reflect anything close (boats dont reflect in water for example). So Im testing planar reflections for v1.4 which reflects everything (see the animal as well as mountains all reflect in the water) Link

Finished the Character Creator. You can customize your avatar for a variety of looks. I have a few bugs to squash then Ill submit it in update 1.3. Thank you to everyone who is supporting me with encouragement and who appreciate this quiet world.

Wilderless Photomode - for me what seems pointless to some in games is the actual point - the small moments matter, and I wont rest until Ive perfected the feeling of sitting in the sun on a hillside. I want you to smell the flowers

Am I crazy for being THIS close to deactivating Facebook for setting most relevant comments as the default? On my own posts it doesnt even let a single comment though, even if Ive commented on it myself. Its a time waster and I cant figure out how to permanently change it I wonder how people would feel about me leaving Facebook and sticking with only Instagram and Twitter? Good or bad idea?
