The Milky Way a beautiful name for galaxy, befitting of how it looks at night. But as with many things, thats only one way to look at it. Through history and languages, different people saw different objects in Milky Way, all of them quite poetic. Milky Way is how the ancient Romans called it and what many languages adopted, but in Faroese and Swedish, its called Winter Way ; in Japanese, its called River of Heaven. We like the older Hungarian name, the... Road of the Warriors , in classic Arabic it was known as Haymakers Way, and in Akkadian it was the snake of the skies ... How ever you may call it, you can explore the Milky Way or The Way of the White Elephant (thats Thai!) on app for iOS and Android. , Ich benutze @tagsfinder_com ( Link )

Hours, days, weeks, months, years The units of time are very much depending on your point of reference. Or rather, the planet youre currently standing on. While an Earth day, i.e. the rotation of Earth around its own axis, takes 24 hours, and a year, i.e. the rotation around the Sun, takes 365.25 days, things are a bit different on Venus. The planet takes 225 Earth days to orbit the Sun, but 243 earth days to rotate once around its own axis. Discover something new about the universe every day with the new app Redshift Sky. When does your expedition begin?

Do you believe in horoscopes and constellations ? We dont. Since expertise and interest lie more in the scientific discovery of galaxy rather than astrology, we are debunking an idea planetary alignment of the Solar System and its catastrophic consequences. ... When viewed from the Sun, all planets would have to be lined up in a row. However mathematically possible, it is quite improbable. For one, the planets in Solar System dont travel at the same exact plane. And its already quite rare that all planets are on the same side of the Sun. But if several planets (and moons) ever align, its a lucky day for astronomers, because thats an excellent time to send a space probe so you can take pictures of several objects along the journey like the Voyager did back in the Seventies. You can see the result of this resourceful space exploration in app Redshift Sky, available for iOS and Android.

Some things change very quickly (like the rules of ), others seem to last forever (also ). One thing that clearly belongs in the second category are the footprints on the moon that were left by astronauts on various missions. Since there is no erosion by wind or water, the traces and footprints left by the moon landings will most likely be visible for eternity or until universe ends. Discover the moon and much more with the new app Redshift Sky. Have fun exploring!

A spacesuit costs $12million . We dont know about you, but many of us at Redshift Sky wanted to become astronauts when we were younger . However, going to space is no walk in the park in more senses than one. Not only is the preparation for space missions grueling work. The suit alone for working in space costs a fortune as well. ... At $12 million, it is a bit too pricey for most of us . Luckily, you dont need an expensive space suit to explore space Redshift Sky app will do the trick for you .

As beautiful and fascinating space is, it is also frightening and dangerous and quite deadly. Without any protection of a proper space suit and/or a space shuttle around a human body, we could survive in space for about two minutes. After that you would die from suffocating. But dont worry, you would probably be unconscious by then. Therefore we suggest that you stay safe and stay inside. With new app Redshift Sky for Android and iOS you can explore space from the safety of your home, and you will have more than two minutes to see the far reaches of the universe!

THE COMET ATLAS IS BREAKING APART The only thing that is constant in life is change, thats how a saying goes. And even though space operates in gigantic timeframes that are hard to grasp for us humans, some changes even we can see in real time. Like what happened to the comet Atlas or C/2019 Y4. Only discovered in 2019, astronomers hoped it would be visible to the naked eye in May 2020. But chances for that are rapidly declining, as Atlas currently seems to becrumblin...g to pieces. But dont be too sad for one, a bright comet called Swan might be coming way and probably be visible on the Northern Hemisphere mid to end of May. And second, you can still take a glimpseat Atlas in app, Redshift Sky Pro. #stars #galaxy

Triton is the largest moon of Neptune and it is a bit of an oddball Triton orbits in the opposite direction of its planets rotation, a so-called retrograde orbit. It is the only large moon in solar system that does that. One possible explanation is that Triton once had been a Kuiper Belt Object that was eventually captured by Neptunes gravity.

Circle dances can be quite fun, even more so with good company. Dione, another one of Saturns moons, does exactly that It is in orbital resonance with two nearby moons, Mimas and Enceladus. What happens is that the moons speed up as they approach each other and slow down as they draw away, causing their orbits to vary slightly in a long series of complex changes, which helps keep them locked in their positions. There are quite a few objects in the Solar System that have an atmosphere besides Earth. Saturns moon Rhea is one of them. In 2010, the Cassini spacecraft detected oxygen and carbon dioxide in Rheas exosphere. The oxygen appears to arise when Saturn's magnetic field rotates over Rhea. Energetic particles trapped in the planet's magnetic field pepper the moon's water-ice surface. They cause chemical reactions that decompose the surface and release oxygen. The source of the carbon dioxide is less certain. Cruise across Rheas surface with Redshift Sky Pro. #moon

Visually, Saturn is the planet in Solar System that stands out the most Its rings give it its iconic silhouette. But the formation of the rings is still mysterious the latest data suggests that they might have formed as recently as 100 million years ago, when a 300-km ice moon was torn apart by Saturns gravity. Another hypothesis is that the rings were formed from passing comets that were caught by Saturns gravity and subsequently crushed. What is your opinion?
